Guiding the Cables and Wrapping the Joints

The part of the wiring is one of the most important in residential electrical installations, as carelessness can spoil the entire installation, so I recommend you introduce the cables in the conduit pipes efficiently and safely using a guide. These can be steel wire or galvanized when the pipes are pvc or smooth polyethylene, or nylon when the pipes are ringed.

Guiding the Cables and Wrapping the Joints

The guides are only small hooks that get into the tube to be wired. It should be done little by little to prevent the cables from getting stuck.

If there are many drivers entering the tube, we should place some industrial talc so that it makes it easier for them to slide down the tube and out the other end. Do not use greases or oils to lubricate the cables because these materials usually react to heat and even be flammable.

Once the cables have been removed from the other end, tips are left in each register; these tips should be between 10 to 15 cm, so that when we go to make connections, there is enough material.

To make the connections we must take great care. The first thing to do is to remove the lining to the cable with the help of a clamp or a knife; You must clean the copper perfectly well. Then we will make the connection of the cables with the corresponding mooring. Once we have tight connections we will begin to cover them with insulation tape, following this advice: the tip of the tape should be in the middle, beginning to tape upwards, until the connection is exceeded; once it has been overpassed, it is covered with the surplus of the upper part of the connection, returning with the wire downwards, until reaching the beginning of the connection.

The bend that is made to the tape for the upper part of the connection, is for the purpose of reinforcing this part, since it is one of the most dangerous since it is tipped in the connection boxes, and if we do not perform a good taping by this part will start faults to ground or short circuits.

Once we have finished taping, we must carefully bend the connection. Set it perfectly well in the box so that the others are left on top without being squeezed.
